By accessing or using SidePaws ("the App"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the App.
SidePaws is a platform that connects dog owners by allowing them to create profiles for their dogs, discover nearby dogs through a swipe-based feed, match with compatible dogs, and communicate with other owners via real-time messaging. The App is available on iOS, Android, and web.
To use SidePaws, you must create an account. By registering, you agree that:
Your account is authenticated through Clerk, a third-party authentication provider. You are responsible for safeguarding your login credentials.
When creating a dog profile, you must:
All dog profiles are subject to manual review by our team before they appear in the discovery feed. We reserve the right to reject or remove any profile that contains inappropriate content, misleading information, or violates these terms. You will be notified if your profile is rejected, along with the reason.
You agree not to:
A match occurs when two dog owners mutually swipe right on each other's dog profiles. Once matched, you can communicate via real-time messaging within the App. We do not guarantee the accuracy of any information provided by other users. You are responsible for your own safety when arranging in-person meetups. We recommend meeting in public dog parks or other safe public spaces.
The core SidePaws experience is free, including creating dog profiles, swiping through the discovery feed (subject to daily limits), matching, and messaging.
SidePaws Pro is a premium subscription that offers additional features such as unlimited swipes, advanced filters, and the ability to see who liked your dog. Subscriptions are processed through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store via RevenueCat.
Subscription fees are charged through your app store account. Subscriptions automatically renew unless canceled at least 24 hours before the end of the current billing period. You can manage or cancel your subscription through your device's app store settings. Refunds are subject to the policies of the Apple App Store or Google Play Store.
You retain ownership of the content you upload to SidePaws, including photos and text. By uploading content, you grant us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to use, display, and distribute that content within the App for the purpose of providing the service. You may revoke this license by deleting your content or account.
We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your account at any time if you violate these terms or engage in behavior that we deem harmful to the community. You may delete your account at any time. Upon deletion, your profile data, dog profiles, matches, and messages will be removed from our active database.
SidePaws is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. We do not guarantee that the App will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free. We are not responsible for the behavior, actions, or content of other users.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, SidePaws shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages arising from your use of the App, including but not limited to damages resulting from in-person meetups arranged through the App.
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting the updated terms in the App and updating the "Last updated" date. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
